Riverbank Festival Crowd from the Damonmill tower
-
September 1994
For
at
least 5 out of the seven years of WADN’s
existence as a folk music/community station, it produced and sponsored
an annual outdoor festival each September in the parking lot outside
its
Damonmill Square studios. The “Riverbank Festival,” as it was called,
featured performaces from artists whose music the station played, and
was
a significant source of income from sponsors through the sale of booth
space and an accompanying spot advertising package. The 1994
festival pictured above offered terrific weather and an excellent
turnout, but thanks to a couple of "misjudgements," revenues were
significantly less than expected.
